This American Child Doll is the first reproduction of Dewees Cochran's work in over 60 years. The head is Peggy Lou, one of four dolls in the series. The torso is the well known "Anne Shirley" body which Effanbee used on the original composition dolls. This doll is produced in a specially formulated high quality hard vinyl. The costume is an exact duplicate of the original clothing.

Effanbee was honored to have had this American Child selected by the United States Post Office as one of the 15 doll represented on the Classic American Dolls Commemorative Stamp issue. Dressed in a bright red cotton lined coat and hat, with a light blue cotton simple dress.
