Name: Patsy Jr.
Maker: Effanbee
Size: 11”
Medium: composition
Date: 1937-1939
Description:
A doll and her wardrobe. Not just any doll, "Patsy Jr.",
one of the harder to find Patsys.
This cute doll is is a little over 11 inches tall, all composition,
jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips.
Her composition is very good, with only very light spiderweb crazing
on her face, crazing on her painted hair and very light crazing elsewhere.
There is a little of the typical surface loss on her lower arms and
hands and a couple of small spots on her left leg. Her painted features
are excellent, with nice eyebrows, lashes and eyes, and just slight
loss on one edge of her lips. Her hair paint is excellent, with no
flaking, but with the overall crazing.
She is wearing a red and white checked three piece outfit, and there
are several other outfits in the trunk, plus miscellaneous pieces,
along with a pair of roller skates that I've seldom seen. She has
her original white socks with red stripes matching the outfit, and
green center-snap leatherette shoes.
All of the clothing is in very good to excellent condition, with just
a light spot on the dress she is wearing. The shoes are outstanding.
She comes in a trunk with foreign travel stickers on it, and dimensions
of 13 x 8 x 6 1/2 inches. It is paper-covered boards with metal corners
and handle, and has 3 drawers and a 2 door space on top on the right,
and a hanger holder on the left.
The trunk is self-hinged, and the hinge could use some strngthening,
and one of the doors is loose from the upper space, otherwise the
trunk is very good.
